Free briefing on Business Email Compromise (BEC) - What to Know and How to Protect Your Company, with speakers from the FBI Tampa office and Taray International, to take place via webinar on September 8, 2021. Organized by the U.S. Commercial Service Tampa Bay with support from Global Tampa Bay. BEC is a sophisticated scam targeting both businesses and individuals performing transfers of funds. The scam is frequently carried out when a subject compromises legitimate business email accounts through social engineering or computer intrusion techniques to conduct unauthorized transfers of funds. Scammers primarily target businesses that work with foreign suppliers/buyers or regularly perform wire transfer payments. Businesses of all sizes are targeted, and the fraud is proliferating.
